The outcomes of my 30 day apple cider vinegar weight loss experiment with drinking apple cider vinegar were not what I had anticipated. Some people may find it a little bit revolting to consider the possibility of consuming apple cider vinegar daily.
To be honest, drinking ordinary tap water is more tempting to me than drinking apple cider vinegar. Still, because apple cider vinegar is claimed to have so many health advantages, I felt I'd give it a go and try to drink it every day for the next month.
People appear to praise apple cider vinegar for various reasons, one of the most prominent of which is the belief that it might assist with weight reduction. Could it help you lose weight more effectively than the most advanced workout machine? Well, I was eager to find out whether this helped me lose some of the residual weight I had gained over the holidays, and I was also interested in seeing what other possible outcomes there were.
Apple cider vinegar, sometimes known by its common abbreviation ACV, was highly recommended to me by several people.
This acidic, sour-tasting mixture of apples and yeast has soared to prominence in recent years, reportedly helping to promote health in various ways, including assisting with weight reduction and reducing blood sugar and cholesterol levels. According to specific theories, apple cider vinegar, despite being acidic, helps maintain a healthy pH level in the body, which, according to particular ideas, may help prevent sickness from occurring in the body.
The collection of bacteria (specifically acetobacter aceti) that grows during the fermenting process is referred to as "The Mother," It is common to practice for bottles of apple cider vinegar to include this organism. My digestive system has been having some issues, and I was wondering if this bacteria might be able to help me get rid of the bloating and get things moving along a bit more smoothly shortly.
A shot of apple cider vinegar (50 milliliters) was to be consumed every morning before breakfast as part of my challenge.
One of the products I chose to use was Willy's ACV Turmeric + Apple Cider Vinegar with Honey & Black Pepper, produced by Willy's. According to the product description for Willy's Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV), each drop contains "quality live bacteria to promote your gut health and make you feel amazing."
Put it to the test! The following is what I discovered after consuming apple cider vinegar for one month:
Because I did not change my eating habits or exercise routine at any point throughout this trial, I reasoned that any weight reduction I experienced would be attributable to the ingestion of apple cider vinegar.
But, despite my best efforts, the scales have not budged, and my pants continue to be uncomfortably tight.
The relationship between apple cider vinegar and weight reduction was the subject of research that was recently published in the Journal of Functional Foods (opens in a new tab). The participants in the study were put on a diet that consisted of ingesting 250 fewer calories than their bodies required. The additional 15 milliliters of apple cider vinegar was not consumed by the other half of the study's participants. However, the apple cider vinegar group achieved this weight loss over a more extended period (twelve weeks). That is three months. If I'm being sincere, I'm not convinced that the five seconds of tormenting my taste buds are worth the three pounds I'll lose in three months. Oh, and while we're on the subject of flavor.
When I initially started taking apple cider vinegar, I winced every time I had to administer my daily dose, and this continued for the first two weeks of my treatment.
It was horrible, and I doubted that I would be able to keep going like that. The flavor, however, turned out to be pretty pleasant once these first two weeks had passed. It occurred to me that I was making less dramatic, scrunched-up facial gestures than usual.
After doing some research, I found out that no, our taste receptors do not grow 'accustomed' to sour flavors; thus, it is possible that I just learned to like them.
Honestly, I'm one of those annoying people who need to glance at food or drink before their stomachs start to fill up with gas. You could even call me one of those annoying people. And then proceeds to complain about it to everyone else in the neighborhood. I reasoned that because apple cider vinegar is meant to be beneficial for gut health due to the high number of bacteria it contains, it should be able to assist. But, alas!
I found that my stomach would expand to its maximum capacity soon after taking apple cider vinegar in the morning for the first two to three weeks. Despite stopping taking the vinegar, the symptoms continued to persist. Although it wasn't very severe, it was noticeable to me nevertheless.
When I asked nutritionist Rob Hobson about the issue of bloating, he explained that the theory behind ACV is that "it is an antimicrobial substance," which means that it may kill bacteria in the stomach, an excess of which may lead to bloating. I spoke with Rob Hobson about this issue, and he explained that the theory behind ACV is that "it is an antimicrobial substance." On the other hand, he does stress that the research in this field is still at a pretty early stage.
If a client came to me complaining about bloating, I would investigate their whole food and lifestyle since many different factors might cause it. Hobson informed me about it.
After I got over this phase of having a bloated stomach in the morning, I realized that I was less bloated than usual and seemed to have less puffiness.
It's possible that my digestive system needed some time to adjust to the sudden influx of apple cider vinegar germs.
In any event, drinking apple cider vinegar wasn't nearly as fun for me while I was experiencing the side effect of being bloated after each dose.
You have a prior warning of its occurrence. But I have no choice but, to be honest with you all and say that using apple cider vinegar did make things a little bit easier to flow.
If you're a woman, I'm sure you can relate that going to the restroom at that time of the month may be more of a challenge. If you're also a female, you probably have similar experiences. The positive thing about using apple cider vinegar first thing in the morning was that I could maintain my regularity throughout my period, which was a tremendous comfort for me.
I am intimately familiar with my skin, and I am well aware of the hormonal shifts that manifest on my face in the days leading up to the start of my period. Even though I had a significant breakout during the first week of my challenge, I saw fewer pimples and overall smoothness in my skin as the week progressed. If I ever needed a justification to go on with my use of apple cider vinegar, this would be it.
If I continued to consume 30 day apple cider vinegar weight loss, would you recommend that? Sometimes I may think about doing a thirty-day stint every once in a while if I have the opportunity.
